This all-day breakfast café is known for its signature coffee, confections, and a wide-ranging bistro menu. You won’t find digital nomads huddled behind their screens here due to a strict no laptop/iPad policy. The owners, Carlos Noronha and his family prefer to see guests savor their meals without distractions. Caravela opened its doors in 2015 in Fontainhas and quick success led to a second takeaway location on 18th June road and a third location in Candolim.

Of particular interest to coffee lovers will be the café’s own brand of single-estate coffee – Latin Quarter. Beans are roasted in-house, and the house loves to show off its selection. Non-dairy consumers have the option of almond milk or soy milk. Diners enjoy full English and continental breakfasts here with the requisite Goan touches. The rest of the menu is divided into a Western and Goan section, both offering a balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. A long list of omelettes is complimented by a surprisingly extensive list of sandwiches; plenty of pastas, salads, pizzas, and burgers too. On the Goan menu, the usual suspects are to be found – caldeen, xacuti, choriz chilli fry, balchao, Hindu vegetarian dishes like khatkatem and moongachi ghaati. Different rissois and potato chops round out the selection of Goan snacks. Save space for dessert too as their excellent coffee can be enjoyed with orange Bundt cake, all sorts of cheesecakes and tarts, a slice of bebinca, flan or serradura. The owners are usually around to check on and mingle with guests. They love to share their knowledge of food and coffee with their patrons.
