Stories from Goa is a celebration of Goa’s heritage, art, music and cuisine told through stories, and brought to you by subject experts.

 

This 4- Day interactive festival is a collection of bespoke experiences that showcases Goa through different lenses. Goa is a melting pot of diverse cultural influences and through the Stories From Goa we will unravel the various facets of history presented through heritage walks, museum tours, interactive film screening, academic talks, music, art appreciation and gourmet Goan meals.

The Museum of Christian Art (MoCA) is located on the picturesque Holy Hill in Old Goa within the 17th century Convent of Santa Monica. Recognised globally as a perfect symbiosis of two cultural manifestations, Indian and European, the art objects at MoCA are known for their antiquity and distinct Indo-Portuguese influences.

Fundação Oriente is a Portuguese private institution which was founded in 1988, with the main purpose of carrying out and supporting cultural, educational, artistic and other social initiatives.

Fundação Oriente is a Portuguese private institution which was founded in 1988, with the main purpose of carrying out and supporting cultural, educational, artistic and other social initiatives.
Built in 1590, the Figueiredo Mansion pre-dates the Taj Mahal by decades. It was designed by Jesuit priests from nearby Rachol Seminary to accommodate a newly-converted Goan family - the Podiars, who took the name Figueiredo. The house's sumptuous interior stands in studied contrast to the natural beauty of the paddy fields and coconut trees that surround it.

Stay in a heritage hotel

WelcomHeritage Panjim Inn

Located centrally in the Latin Quarter of Fontainhas, The Panjim Inn, is Goa’s First and only Classified Heritage Hotel. The 130 year old Family Mansion, is an ancestral home of Ajit Sukhija, his son Jack Ajit Sukhija and daughter Gitanjali Sukhija. The house was built around 1880 by Francis Assis’s de Silviera, Ajit Sukhija’s maternal great grandfather.

Day 0: Arrival and Check into Panjim Inn Heritage hotel

    • 10:00 AM – Fontainhas Heritage Walk by Make It Happen
      Experience a taste of Goa’s Portuguese past with this heritage walk around the charming Old Latin Quarter in Panjim by Amreen Shaikh from Make It Happen
    • 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM Talk at Fundacao Oriente
      A talk about the Foundation, its inception, mission and about the Trindade Collection and other exhibitions by Indian and Portuguese artists.

  • 10:30 AM- Fontainhas Heritage Walk with talk at Fundacao Oriente.
    Experience a taste of Goa’s Portuguese past with this heritage walk led by Amreen Shaikh from Make it Happen around the charming Old Latin Quarter in Panjim followed by a talk at Fundacao Oriente on art works of Antonio Xavier Trindade presented by Dr. Fatima Gracias.
