For someone who likes to know more about what they are looking at, the Heritage walk is a great experience. Walking around in the streets of Fontainhas is beautiful as it is, but having that extra context and information about what you’re looking at always makes it better. Additionally, the timing of this couldn’t be better for us, with the Christmas spirit all around.

We had a lovely time at the walk. The storytelling was engaging, ripe with historical anecdotes and fun, to say the least. Thank you, Nelson. We talked about the history of Goa, the construction of the houses, the balconies, the windows and everything in between. Learning about the local cultures, the people, their motivations and religious beliefs helped us understand why Fontainhas looks the way it does and what makes it unique. And to top it all, we were lucky enough to find a great group of people to share the experience with.

Highly recommend this experience to anyone wondering it it’s worth the time. We might, in fact, book another experience with Make It Happen since we enjoyed this so much.

Definitely a must to- do thing (When in Goa)

This was my 2nd heritage walk experience with Make it happen team & they do continue to amaze you with beautiful historic streets of Panjim. During the Fontainhas Heritage walk, we ventured around with the right amount of historic background, went to old heritage cafe for a quick bite. Our storyteller, Nelson, gave us the right amount of time to absorb the information, feel the history through the remnants (from the textures, to the colours, to the windows and everything in between) and a great amount of laughter in between (With his puns and jokes).

The Tour ended with a lovely music show( I wasn’t expecting that) and that definitely was a delightful surprise in the experience. A Lovely feast on Goa history and what remains of it, indeed. Don’t miss the walks when you are in Goa!!!

Eclectic mix of history and stories!

It was lovely to go around the area with Amreen. So many stories, so many funny anecdotes and so much history. It was an eclectic mix. Make It Happen has really curated it well. The cherry on the cake was of course the local drinks and titbits to eat during the walk. Loved it. Highly recommended for all people interested in either history or story!

Being addicted to Goa, earlier in August we stumbled upon Make it Happen on AirBnB and they conducted two tours for us of Fontainhas and Saligao. Visiting again before Christmas our family booked their Tapas and Feni tour. Mrs. Lata Rodrigues a retired Culinary School Principal and Nelson, an Archaeology student who was apprenticed with Make it Happen, gave us another walk and Tapas and Feni tour through Fontainhas in the evening. We went to four Bars and Club and tried Feni cocktails and various Tapas. Nicely curated and even the young in the group enjoyed the experience.

Must do if you are visiting Goa! Make it part of your bucket list! The walks are as exciting as they make it sound on their pamphlets! We tried the a couple of their heritage tours! Feni Tapas trial is hands down the best experience! This is for you if you are looking to truly experience Goa apart from the usual! Lata Rodrigues, our guide is the very best! Truly a wonderful soul! So warm and welcoming and curates the whole experience for you! Definitely doing it again when I come to Goa next!
