A store that is equally lauded by Goans and tourists, Goa Decor offers a clever blend of the past and present through its unique range of products. Located in Caranzalem, this one-of-a-kind store champions cultural preservation. Inspired by Goan heritage, founder Roopa Kunkolienkar and her team of local artisans conceive, design, and produce objects that blend past beauty with modern-day utility.

Goa Decor’s collections can be broadly organised into art, architecture, tableware, lifestyle accessories, and spiritual tools. Paintings by local artists reminisce over now-obsolete Goan occupations or depict Goan heritage. Architectural products refer mainly to the store’s best-selling, souvenir Goan windows made with oyster shells. Vintage Goan tableware is revived in the Sadafuli collection where each piece is crafted out of a single wooden block. Goans will recognize familiar objects such as the aadoli (coconut scraper) and chairs done in the rotesao technique (weaved seats) revived with contemporary elements. Local instruments such as a ghumot can be made to order. Puja paaths, ornate diya stands, and tilak stamps are some of the accessories available at Goa Decor for religious rituals and festivities. For those who value history and craftsmanship, Goa Decor is an absolute delight to visit.
