Terracota Utensils

These earthenware doesn’t just look pretty but also used for storing milk, oil and can be used for refrigeration as well and of course cooking. Food tastes better if cooked in an earthern pot and one should go back to traditional methods for a simpler approach to life, if they can. Caldin, for example is only to be cooked in these terracota pots. In various shapes and sizes, these are made by the Kumbhar community and their repertoire goes back centuries when food was cooked and stored only in these earthenware. They have obviously evolved as a community and now one can find all kinds of utensils and even show pieces at Panjims newest supermarket, Global to Local.

Bebinca

Bol
You earn 2 Points₹45A traditional wedding dessert, BOL is made of jaggery, coconut, coarse ground wheat, cardamom powder, toddy and salt. Left to ferment overnight, it is baked thereafter. Once ready, it hardens but once bitten, it is soft inside. Stays well at room temperature for a week and if refrigerated, it stays even longer. Greatly recommended if you take your High tea or coffee time rather seriously and prefer something subtly sweet to go with your favorite beverage.
