One of the most remotest and least visited areas in this region Suru and Zanskar are part of Kargil rather than Leh. Zanskar and Suru both relatively scarcely inhabited valley”s, have some the most revered monasteries and settlements.

Suru and Zanskar valley is located about 250 kms off the Srinagar – Leh route off Kargil. Panikhar and Rangdum of Suru valley is on the way to Zanskar valley.

Experience river rafting. Drive on Srinagar – Leh highway to chilling rafting point early morning, where the raft will be waiting for you. Rafting stretch is about 20 Kms on the Zanskar river.This is an experience worth giving a try

Day 1: Srinagar – Kargil via Sonmarg (07 – 08 Hrs drive)
Morning drive to Kargil, through the panoramic village to reach Sonmarg. Continue drive towards Drass where we stop for tea and passport check. We reach Kargil in another 2.5 hrs. Stay at hotel.

Day 2: Kargil To Rangdum (130 Kms / 6 Hrs)
Post breakfast we drive towards Rangdum, a village on an elliptical plateau situated midway between Kargil and Padum. Stay at Rangdum.

Day 3: Rangdum – Padum Via Suru Valley (131 Kms/5 Hrs)
Drive to Padum, the capital of the ancient kingdom of Zanskar. With a population of nearly 1500, Padum is the most populous settlement of Zanskar

On way to Padum we visit Sani Monastery belonging to the a branch of the Drukpa Kagyupa. Stay at Padum.

Day 4: In Padum (Excursion To Karsha & Bardan Gompa) Approx 5 – 6 Hrs
After Breakfast leave for sightseeing of Karsha & Bardhan. The Karsha monastery of Ladakh is situated in the Karsha village. One can also see a nunnery called Dorje Dzong, on a hilltop.

We proceed towards Bardan Gompa, a 17th century monastery,12 kms south of Padum. It stands on a rocky crag and belongs to the Dugpa-Kargyud monastic . After visiting above monasteries we drive back to our Camp. Dinner & stay at hotel.

Day 5: In Padum (Excursion To Stongde & Zangla) Approx 6 – 7 Hrs
After an early breakfast we Drive to The monastery of Stongdey 18 km to the north of Padum, on the road leading to Zangla. Associated with the Yogi Marpa, Stongdey is inhabited by about 60 Gelukpa monks

Next we drive further towards Zangla, at the end of the rough road from Padum. A ruined old castle, except for a small chapel on a hill. Another old monastery close by has exquisite frescos.

Day 6: Padum – Mulbek (261 Kms 10 – 12 Hrs)
Post breakfast we check out from our Camp & Drive to Mulbek. Dinner & Overnight at the guest house.

Day 7: Mulbek – Leh (07 ? 08 Hrs drive)
Full day drive to Leh. We have to cross the Fotula pass. At lunch time we will be at Lamayuru oldest monastery. Finally we reach Leh. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Stok palace – Shey – Thiksey – Hemis – Shanti Stupa – Leh Palace (50 kms / 02 – 03 hrs)
After breakfast leave to visit Stok royal Palace, the present home of royal family of Ladakh, with a royal museum for many interesting artefacts. We also visit , Thiksey, Hemis ? each with myriad attractions. After lunch at Hemis drive back to Leh. Evening visit Leh Palace.

Day 9: Leh – Pangong lake (160 + 160 kms / 7 -8 hrs)
Early morning drive to Pangong Lake, 160 km from Leh . The long easy ascent takes you to Changla pass through Sakti Village. Stop at the Changla Pass for photos and drive down to the village of Tangtse, where you can relax for a cup of tea. Leaving Tangtse for Pangong you pass through few small villages to finally have a sudden view of the lake. Overnight halt at deluxe camp.

Day 10: Leh – Chilling – Nimo rafting – Leh
Morning drive on Leh Srinagar highway to Chilling rafting point. Rafting stretch is about 20 Kms on the Zanskar river, and takes 2.5 hrs. The end point is at the confluence of Zanskar and Indus river. After lunch, we head back to Leh. En route visit the Magnetic hill.

Day 11: Nubra Valley- Khardong – Khalsar – Disket ? Hunder – Leh (130 + 130 kms / 8 ? 10 hrs)
Early morning drive to Nubra Valley the most luxuriant and fertile in Ladakh, with the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges around. The route from Leh crosses the Khardongla pass. Diskit is the main village of Nubra division; 7 km away is Hunder village known for Bactrian camels, and you get to ride them. Overnight in Hundar village.

Day12: Leh – Alchi – Lamayuru – Mulbek (205 kms / 07 – 08 hrs)
Leave in the morning and drive towards Lamayuru. En route we visit the Alchi monastery, known for its wall paintings. We follow the river Indus till Khalsi, and drive further to reach Lamayuru. Stop for some lunch and visit the ancient monastery perched on a cliff. By evening we?ll reach Mulbek village. Overnight at Mulbek.

Day 13: Mulbek – Kargil – Srinagar (235 kms / 07 – 08 hrs)
After an early breakfast, we head on to Srinagar highway. After an hour”s drive we reach Kargil and continue towards Drass. The road ascends until we reach Zojila pass and then descends all the way passing through the panoramic villages. After Sonamarg, it?s a pleasant road until Srinagar.
