About the trip
We recommend our guests to stay with a local authentic Coorgi family and enjoy the hospitality. We will also participate in the process of local Coorgi cuisine . Host Mrs Bollu Nanaiah runs a small homestay(Misty Meadows-about 8kms from Madikeri on the Mysore highway) and stays with her retired husband. She is a very passionate cook and a traditional fruit blended wine maker. The home stay is surrounded by raw forest and coffee estate . This is it if someone is seeking an original experience in Coorg .
On arrival you will visit the coffee farms ,get familiarised with the plants & seed( depending on the season this visit may alter). However crushing and packing happens at Madikeri at select shops and is a mechanical process( one can visit these places on the advice of hosts). Bollu will run through the process of Decoction ie the act of boiling coffee to extract the flavour. And of-course filter coffee will be served at the end. Simultaneously the fragrance and smell of Coorgi food will encompass you. Dishes like Rice balls, bamboo shoot curry, pandi curry,etc ( a 3 course meal will be served) will take care of your hunger needs. At the end you will be offered Coffee pudding. !!
Two day stay at this exotic destination will rejuvenate you and bring you close to Nature . Evening enjoy the silence of forests.!!
